How to choose un restaurant Francaise

Pick a place that people you would not like as dining companions do not like. On this measure Mere Catherine is a winner.

Exhibit A:

1. 6pm for dinner? Get ye off any semblance of the continent.

2. If you are taking children ASK. I'm all for little tikes being welcome (well, not really actually) but it is common courtesy to other diners and the restaurant to ask. Would you take said 5 y/o to Tetsuyas without asking? Thought not.

3. As predicted I loved this place. The food is real French home food done with style. And the wine list involves bringing an armful of bottles to the table for you to choose from. The steak ordered blue is delivered blue. I have heard tell that French onion soup when ordered has port whisked in at the table.

Mere Catherine: FODE Approved.
